Project title:

Some like it hot: invasive species, hybridisation, and a warming world

Project description:

The spread and adaptation of invasive species to new environments can act as models for both rapid adaptation and how native species may adapt to climate change. We are aiming to understand the distribution of native and invasive Mytilus mussels around Australia, to investigate their evolutionary dynamics as a hybridising species complex. We will also explore the correlation between genetics and heat tolerance in Australian Mytilus mussels.
