The Faculty of Science sustains ongoing and collaborative engagement around the secondary science and mathematics syllabuses with in-service and pre-service teachers, school leaders, and secondary students.

As part of this engagement collaboration, we will host secondary science and mathematics leaders in a forum facilitated by Dr Gurion Ang. The forum aims to:

  • Identify challenges in the uptake of senior sciences and mathematics in the secondary school environment.
  • Discuss opportunities where UQ and secondary teachers can work together to inspire, increase desire and then more effectively transition secondary students into studying science and mathematics at secondary school and subsequently at university.

Trends identified from these discussions may provide context, rationale, and evidence that we can use during strategic planning and business development. We welcome our local secondary science and mathematics leader community to attend this exclusive professional development and networking opportunity.
