Project title:

Achieving large-scale restoration through long-lasting natural regeneration

Project description:

The barriers and motivations to regenerated forest clearing and conservation are still unclear, and solving crucial research gaps related to social and psychological aspects driving behaviour will help achieve effective restoration planning and implementation. Through this thesis I investigate the socioeconomic and psychological drivers of regrowth forest persistence and clearing in private and communal lands, as well as the mechanisms and governance structures that could be potentially used to promote regrowth forest persistence. This assessment will allow promoting large-scale restoration through regenerated forest persistence in an efficient way.
