Illegal WIildlife Trade and Community Conservation in Nepal
Project description:
An indigeous tribe from Nepal, known as the Chepangs have been identified to be involved in poaching of the One-horned rhinoceros in Chitwan National Park, Nepal.Aim of the study is to identify the trend and relationships between Illegal Wildlife Trade of megafauna and indigenous community conservation in developing nations such as Nepal and India. The study focused on interview based questionnaire surveys of Chepang community members who had been imprisoned for rhino poaching.
