Project title:
Marine animal colour patterns and how they are perceived by coral reef fishes
Project description:
My project is focussed on the role and function of marine animal colour patterns (focussing on nudibranchs) and how they are perceived by coral reef fishes. I am interested in the factors that influence a fish's ability to detect and discriminate an object from its natural background, and what this can inform us about the function of visual signals used by animals in the marine environment (e.g. defensive colouration in nudibranchs).
