Qualifications:
Bachelor of Advanced Science (Honours)
Project title:
Quantifying the fine-scale behaviour, movement, and habitat use of koalas in south-east Queensland
Project description:
I am fascinated with understanding the movement ecology of animals in the wild. This includes why, how, and when animals move, and more broadly, how they survive and thrive in a changing environment. In my PhD, I use multi-axis accelerometers, high-resolution GPS devices, and machine learning to quantify the fine-scale behaviour and movement patterns of free-roaming koalas. Understanding koala movement to this detail may help us to understand areas of high mortality risk for koalas traversing the ground.
