Project title:
Assessing the biology and connectivity of deep-water finfish on Australia’s east coast and the impact of fleet dynamics
Project description:
The East Coast Deep-Water Fisheries Project will focus on three recreationally and commercially important deep-water species: banded rockcod Hyporthodus ergastularius, flame snapper Etelis coruscans, and goldband snapper Pristipomoides multidens.
My research aims to improve our understanding of the biology (age, growth, and reproduction) and population structure of the flame snapper Etelis coruscans. I will also be investigating the use of microchemical methods as an age validation technique.
