Mike Capra retired as Professor of Occupational Health and Safety Science in November 2014. With his colleagues, he initiated and developed both undergraduate and post graduate programs in OHSS at UQ, ensuring a strong science foundation.  The programs are leaders in Australia in this regard. Mike has served on state and national committees in environmental and occupational health and contributed to a range of health and education projects in Africa, Asia and the Pacific as well as Australia.  He continues in his role as Chair of the Australian OHS Education Accreditation Board. He also continues to teach into the UQ programs. Mike came from a background in toxicology and physiology and has strong and ongoing interests in marine science. He has held a range of academic positions in Australia, NZ the UK and Fiji.
