Description:

This project explores the application of Indigenous food sovereignty to more-than-human kin, using migratory birds as a case study. It examines how Indigenous philosophical frameworks recognise birds as kin with sovereign relationships to food, habitat, and climate-impacted ecosystems. Through a decolonial literature review, the project will analyse Indigenous perspectives on food sovereignty, rights of nature, and relational stewardship. Findings will contribute to an Emory-UQ collaboration, informing global discussions among Indigenous collectives and offering new frameworks of thought within conservation paradigms, advocating for Indigenous and more-than-human agency in conservation decision-making.

Additional Information: Indigenous students are especially encouraged to apply.
