UQ’s Bachelor of Environmental Science will equip you with the scientific skills and knowledge to help solve the world’s biggest environmental challenges.

Environmental scientists generate and interpret data that support understanding of environmental issues. Their findings facilitate evidence-based environmental management and legal reform that help protect Earth’s biodiversity and mitigate the impacts of climate change and human activity.

You’ll study fundamental environmental processes, the way they can be described, monitored and predicted, and the effect of human impacts on the physical and biological environment.

You’ll broaden your scientific understanding and gain practical experience in a broad range of fields, including ecology, conservation, environmental toxicology, natural resources, decision science, and more. Plus, you’ll combine your scientific skills with knowledge of legal, political and social aspects of environmental management.

You’ll study core and advanced science and regulatory topics, participate in field trips and complete a substantial research project that includes an environmental impact assessment or environmental audit.
