Data are Fun?! for Senior Science Teachers (online)

Due to capacity of the in-person offering, an online option is now available.

Join Dr Gurion Ang and other Queensland teachers for a biology-focused Professional Development (PD) day which covers best-practice in data processing, analysis and report preparation for new and returning teachers in senior sciences.

In 2025, the PD includes content which covers new expectations of data analysis for the 2025 general science syllabuses.

This event is held online via Zoom. This will also be recorded and shared with all registrants.

We'll deliver from a senior biology context but the data analysis techniques and skills we cover are useful across all senior sciences, and to some extent senior geography.

These skills are highly relevant to Internal Assessment 2: Student Experiment, but the concepts and contexts we present are relevant to Internal Assessment 1: Data Test and Internal Assessment 3: Research Investigation.

Registration and cost

$110 exc. GST ($121 incl. GST). Professional development certificates will be emailed to you after the session.

Please note:

This payment link has been set up for an indefinite period so please ignore the notice that the PD is running until “31 December 2028”.
A tax invoice is automatically sent to the email used during registration.
If you’re registering on behalf of multiple teachers please indicate each teacher’s email address.
We use the email information provided for the generation of PD certificates so please check carefully before submitting your registration and making payment.

How to prepare

Ensure Zoom app is installed on your local computer. You do not need a Zoom account to join the Zoom meeting.
Ideally you have a split screen so that you can watch the PD on one screen, and work through the sample data set on the other.
Your questions about anything and everything related to data analysis for IA2.
