Researcher biography

I am Professional Planner in Residence / Senior Lecturer in urban planning (appointed in January 2019). As a practicing urban and social planner, my interest is in ensuring city-makers and community builders (government, industry and community) have the knowledge and capabilities to plan and design a better future for our cities, towns and communities. In this two-year position I am seeking to build and strengthen understanding and links between academia, students, industry, the professions and community through a range of teaching, research and engagement activities.

I have significant industry and leadership experience, prior to joining The University of Queensland I held a senior position with a national multidisciplinary property, planning and design firm responsibile of the social planning and engagement offer in Queensland. I am a non-Executive Director for South Bank Corporation Board, overseeing the planning, management and operation of Queensland's premier lifestyle, community and cultural precinct. I am an active member of the Planning Institute of Australia, and sit on the Queensland Women in Planning Network.
