Project title:

The effects of climate change on coral fecundity and future connectivity of the Great Barrier Reef

Project description:

This PhD project investigates the effects of climate change-driven ocean warming on hard coral fecundity and how this may undermine reef recovery and resilience by disrupting reef interconnectivity, using a combination of heat-stress experiments, habitat-specific coral fecundity monitoring, and connectivity modelling. The overarching aim of this project is to provide key knowledge on reef recovery potential mediated by reef connectivity in present and future climatic contexts for reef management.
