Characterising the common and functional core of Musa spp. microbiomes and the effects of land manag
Project description:
I study the taxonomic and functional profiles of Musa spp. (banana) microbiomes, both locally and globally, to identify the common core taxa and the potential ecosystem services they provide. I then investigate how common fertilisation practices influence these core taxa. The overall goal is to help develop approaches to manage banana microbiomes to maximise the benefits they contribute to the industry, and the environment.
