Project title:
Integrating migratory marine connectivity into shark conservation
Project description:
Despite extensive collection of tracking data for marine megavertebrates, there remains relatively little information on species that exhibit long-distance multijurisdictional migrations, particularly for non-charismatic species, and relatively limited uptake of tracking data into conservation. Using tracking data, my aim is to address the prevailing gap in the conservation of migratory sharks and rays by incorporating migratory connectivity information. The primary objective is to refine methodologies for integrating migratory connectivity into conservation, explicitly focusing on threatened sharks and rays and employing acoustic and satellite telemetry data
