Project title:
My research aims to improve woodland clearing and regrowth detection by complimenting optical imagery with the sub-canopy structural information provided by spaceborne synthetic aperture radar. Improving this data is important for a wide variety of applications including carbon accounting and state and national vegetation management policies, as well as international treaties and regulations such as the Paris Agreement, Sustainable Development Goals, and the EU Deforestation Regulation.
