Researcher biography
Martin Bell retired as Professor of Human Geography in December 2015. He joined the University in 2001 following previous appointments at the University of Adelaide and in the Australian Government sector. During his time at UQ, he was Head of School from January 2003 until June 2009, and the Director, Queensland Centre of Population Research. He is also a panel member, IUSSP Scientific Panel on Migration and Urbanization.
Professor Bell is a demographer and population geographer with interests in population mobility and internal migration, demographic projections and forecasts, regional and local population change and population models and methods of analysis.
