Description:

Coral Reef Habitat maps are created to support management and science. In 2022 the Allen Coral Atlas presented the first global high spatial resolution coral reef habitat map. The reef extent, geomorphic and benthic map can be freely downloaded through the Allen Coral Atlas Website. The data set have been viewed and downloaded many times, and its known that it helped marine park planning, conservation and management of reefs around the world. This desktop project would focus on assessing the peer reviewed and grey literature on how habitat maps of the Allen Coral Atlas have been used and what was there impacts since its first publication in 2021.

Additional Information: This would be a desktop review for a research project. The research project will be conducted within the staff and students Marine Ecosystems Monitoring Lab that is focusing their research on coral reef and seagrass habitats using field and earth observation-based methods.
