Occupational health and safety
Occupational health and safety (OHS) scientists and occupational hygienists identify, analyse and prevent worker injury, illness and fatality, and promote workforce wellbeing. As worldwide focus on the health and safety of work environments increases, demand for graduates within these disciplines has never been greater.
We develop our degree programs in response to industry demands. You’ll learn from Australia’s leading OHS experts and Australian Institute of Occupational Hygienists (AIOH) certified occupational hygienists.
You’ll learn about the work environment within the context of occupational hygiene, ergonomics, occupational health, safety science and risk management. You’ll also build on your scientific knowledge, focusing on the practical occupational hygiene skills you’ll need to manage the health impacts of work environments.
Our graduates leave UQ with a unique combination of theoretical and technical knowledge, advanced communication skills and a keen sense of justice.
