Project title:
Understanding genetic diversity, connectivity and adaptive potential in reef-building corals
Project description:
My project aims to use a seascape genomics approach to better understand the spatial distribution of genetic variability and local adaptation in a few select coral species in Australia and the Caribbean. I aim to work alongside modellers, social scientists, and ecologists to use this information to inform marine spatial planning tools and objectives. Ultimately, I strive to work at the intersection of scientific research and conservation practice/policy. More broadly, I am passionate about science communication; empowering women in STEM; and equality, equity, and diversity in education.
